fortsmith	WOW. It amazes me that someone would pay that much for such a useless device. The Law Enforcement world has changed as radar detectors have become popular. If an Officer was writing a report on the side of the road, or doing some other task, they now leave the radar on constantly just to slow people down because most have detectors. However, to specifically catch people violating the speed limit, the "instant on" technique is used. When an Officer sees a potential speeder, that Officer instantly switches on the radar, or lazer. The detector might register that signal and warn the driver, but it is too late. By the time the detector emits it's warning, the radar gun, or lazer, has already recorded the speed. This company, and others, will gladly take your money and say that their product warns you of radar and lazer, but they neglect to tell you that by the time you hear the warning, your speed has already been detected. They should call them Ticket Preparation Tones instead of warning beeps.
toys	Its no better than any other radar detector especially if run into a shooting Gallery where they just point and shoot. Toys
c.mangeng	Yep, they just let you know its time to pull over. Been there done that, got my first ticket in 25 yrs with in my katt and the detector screeming Looser at me....or does the "L" mean lazer. Funny thing is, I was in the right lane and a sedan in the left lane was going faster.... guess the katt was a better prize. The officer was very polite and professional with a big grin....I have the same problem with the grin thing when I'm in the katt.
Piddler	Sorry but I have to disagree , Mine has saved me time after time, day after day. If they shoot somebody 1/2 mile in front of me, I know it. I run a active jammer in 4 of my cars, that helps if I'm first on his list. Yes, if he don't get a speed, he can still pull me over. If I got a ticket every time the little box saved me, I would never be able to have a DL. I drive hard and fast, a lot. Wouldn't want to drive without one. When I'm going 55, its in a 35MPH zone.

I agree with Piddler. My radar detectors have saved me quite a few times. As long as there is at least some amount of traffic ahead of you then the officer will be checking their speed which will set off your radar detector. If you are the only one on the road though then you definitely have a better chance of getting caught speeding. That's when the jammers come in handy
brianwlong	I've even seen the jammers that once your hit the first time they go passive. When the officer hits you the second time to see if you have a jammer he gets a reading, but you've already had a chance to slow down. About $600 from what I understand.

toys	Like i said its no beter than any other radar detector. I have a radar detector and it has also saved me a lot of times. only because I was lucky enough to have someone ahead of me. mspe01	have been nailed at least twice by instant on when they get to the auto and see the detector its automatic. i took it out and try to keep it within ten over now and haven't been pulled over in 16 months,a new record for me mike
kjbrooks	I thought the "Valentine 1" was undetectable also. Does someone know different? I've always heard that the Jammers didn't really work and were a waste of money. To those that have them, how do you know they really work, and which one's do you have that you feel do work? Do they set off Radar Detectors? Kevin
InTheRed	I've got an Escort 8500 with VG2 detection. An officer may have a VG2 (radar detector detector) system looking for people illegally using a radar detector. I've had it go off on me once in Virginia. The officer hit me with VG2 and my radar detector shut off. I don't think I was speeding at the time but the result is a nasty alarm and then silence. It was kinda cool actually.. I understand you get a ticket and they take your radar detector away.. that would have been an expensive education for some like me who was just passing through.
